Zong Student Entrepreneur Program: Such A Disgrace!

I’ve been noticing this campaign by Zong since months now, but its the point now that I just can’t take it anymore. Have anyone of you heard about this Zong “Student Entrepreneur” Program. For those of you who don’t know, its a campaign by Zong to ask students to sell Zong connection and generate commissions from sales.
First of all this campaign shows the height of desperation by Zong to somehow increase their sales. Secondly, this campaign clearly shows how many issues the management is facing to increase the sales of Zong connections, and that the growth rate in terms of new connections is not helping the company. Last but not the least, for God’s sake, it is such a disgrace to the word “Entrepreneur” when these guys thought of giving it this name.
I don’t know who the brilliant person was behind this “name” suggestion. The campaign should have been tailored to make brand ambassadors for Zong rather than a sales team. By naming it the “Student Entrepreneur Program” is not going to change this fact. The term “Entrepreneur” is far beyond just being a sales person. Wake up people! Please!
I again felt that Zong was mixed between who they want to target with this campaign. First of all, not everyone understands this term “Entrepreneur.” If the target for this campaign was university and college going educated students, I don’t think any student would want to sell Zong connections in the first place. But if the target was not so well off youngsters, its highly unlikely that they would even recognize the term “Entrepreneur.” Still if someone wants to become a Zong Student Entrepreneur visit this link for more details: http://www.zong.com.pk/student_entrepreneur.html
Its such a shame. The word doesn’t even go with the company name conceptually … When will the brand teams get creative enough in this country? Its just an egoistic industry…

It would be an understatement to assume that if your handsome face was on the cover of said initiative there would be 9754 applicants per day, mostly female.
It is a shame you do not model like your other PMB counterparts such as Zaira, Waqas and Babar; your face is too smoldering to remain hidden in the confines of the classroom. (You taught my 2nd best friend last year).
The Zong initiative is one of complexities no doubt but perhaps the experience of exploitation is good for the university student to perhaps value his or her education and in some way become more humble through the experience.
Your articles are always a joy to read, please attach an image of your picture to them as I enjoy the eye candy very much.
Not again, another case of the HK syndrome eh Sarosh?
Funnily enough I know a guy who took part in this, but its like they sent him a toolkit which flew right over his head. Forget about understanding it, that guy was an MBA in Finance and even HE had no clue what they were asking of him. Applied and resigned in less than a day.
@SS: Get in line, you’re not the 1st
@ Babar: hahahaha ! See now I don’t have to wait to read ‘Laughter the Best Medicine’ . . . I can log in for your replies at PMB . . . hahahah
@ Sarosh: is the Telenor MT competition taking place in b-schools, the same exploitation?
