Happy ‘Not So’ Valentine’s Day

Yes it’s that time of the year when love is in the air (kind of), When local based condom brands start offering a premium to their faithful, When hotels/motels/rest houses/flowers/bouquets go over board and overpriced. Are we thinking on the same lines?? I guess we are.

Culture serves as a best reflection to a nation and cultures flourish on the basis of their beliefs. Only those cultures exist whose beliefs and morals are considered essential and strong by its followers. When cultures are ignored, they become a disregarded part of history books. In the wake of such a crisis, Pakistan as a nation needs to identify their beliefs and principles with genuineness and guide the coming generations to righteousness.

For past few years, Western cultures have deeply penetrated in our culture misleading the society to ways which were alien to them in the first place. This event (V-DAY) has been misunderstood by the masses of this country which has made the faithful of the west boast this event in the name of moderation and evolution.

This shameless and growing sect who has completely abandoned the tradition and values of their ancestors could be easily identified expressing their fake love in restaurants, enjoying each other’s company and later on satisfying their guilty pleasures on this momentous occasion. These so-called moderates stab the religious beliefs and honor in the back and take pride in doing so. Following the wrong examples of the west is one of the main reasons of the downfall of this nation who have forgotten who they actually are.

The people who rightfully oppose it are presented with terms like ‘Fundos’ and ‘Terrorists’. Valentine’s Day is used as a label to protect all the wrong doing through which the youth is being pushed to the brink of mindlessness. It’s a day where young and liberated souls meet to prove they will love each other till eternity and put their worthless mentalities to rest.

In truth, the eternal love has only and only been for the absolute and the creator. The one by whom and for whom we’ve been sent. This free flowing love of the people has to be directed in the correct path of holiness and religion or else some unknowns will take good care of it as they are.

What possible outcome are we expecting on following steps contrary to the Shariah? Will we ever realize the pitfalls? Is this not the time when we stick close to the teachings of Islam and tarnish the phony rituals? Have we given Valentine’s Day a higher priority than Judgment day?  ARE WE THINKING ON THE SAME LINES?? I guess not. The ball is in your court fellas!!
