Pakistan’s first Effie Award won by Walter Pakistan
Walter Pakistan has won Pakistan’s first ever Effie Award for Pepsi’s ‘Made for Cricket’ campaign at an awards gala held in Singapore on April 03, 2014. The Effies (annual MARCOM awards given by the non-profit Effie Worldwide Inc.) honor the most effective marketing communications ideas. The Pepsi campaign was entered into the APAC Effies, which honor work from the Asia Pacific region.
Walter nabbed a Silver in the Non-Alcoholic Beverages category (there is no Gold in this category), where it was pitched against PHD India, McCann World Group India, Ogilvy Malaysia, BBDO China and Ogilvy Bangladesh.
The campaign, Made for Cricket, is a series of three ads, and was released for the Twenty20 World Cup in 2012. The campaign was conceptualized as a clutter breaker for a tournament in which practically every major brand vies for share of space and mind.
This is not the first award that the agency has won for this campaign; in 2013, Walter bagged the PAS Award in the Beverages category.
