Azaadi celebrations at its peak this year for Mera Pakistan

This year being the 68th year of Pakistan’s independence was the most celebrated year. Almost all the brands got active in one way or the other celebrating Azaadi celebrations. Mc Donalds, for instance, did an activity in Atrium Cinemas with 6 best drummers of Pakistan together on one platform playing to the tune of National Anthem. It was a brilliant activity. Undoubtedly, they were the best drummers.

Pepsi launched ‘Chand Sitara’ – collaboration between Vital Signs and Junoon – produced by Shoaib Mansoor. This was a much awaited song but was disappointing, even the video wasn’t good.

Coca-Cola launched its Coke Studio Season 8 first song – ‘Sohni Dharti’ – which swept the nation away with the melodious bunch of musicians part of this new season. It was beautiful and it did deserve all the praise. I don’t know about you but at our PMB headquarters it was on repeat just to get the patriotic juices flowing.

A lot of retail brands offered discounts at their stores across the nation on the Azaadi weekend such as Khaadi, Gul Ahmed, Kapray etc. Many brands launched their Azaadi special edition product range and in that list Sapphire stood out the most. The patriotic fever was as high as 4th July this year in Pakistan.

But this year one brand, which we would like to give a special mention to, is HBL. Hats off to the team for pulling off a brilliant event with more than 5000 people at Dolmen Clifton on the night of 14th. Imaging singing to the tune of the National Anthem with 5000 people and with Ali Azmat. It was the best and the most stand out campaign of this season. Loved the spirits. This was an activity that reminded everyone that even after 68 years we are a ONE nation and #MERAPAKISTAN can unite us on its tunes because we bleed green. Thank you HBL for this beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. The spirits were high, everything turned green, there were tears of joy and most importantly one voice of the 5000 people shining like a ray of hope in these testing times.
