The Google Deception

| January 24, 2012 | 0 Comments

Rocky Agrawal has pointed out something very astute in a post from five days ago on Venture Beat: Google’s method for calculating the number of registrants and users of its social networking service Google+ is severely flawed. For instance, it can’t and shouldn’t count as registration for Google+ if you’re forced to do so while signing up for a YouTube or Gmail ID can it? And even if you do, Google considers your use of YouTube and Gmail as part of Google+ since your updates and activities on those two sites is being streamed on Google+.

Doesn’t make sense. To be honest, even I was a bit taken aback reading articles in the past week about how Google+ is slowly becoming the top choice over Facebook … and I don’t know ANYONE who uses it. That’s not an exaggeration at all, I personally did try it with many others in my immediate circle, but that was WAY back in November 2011 (I think). Since then I’ve rarely used it – except to decline friendship requests – and don’t see my Facebook friends urging me to switch there either.

You have been informed.
