Mobile POS is the future of retail

| February 15, 2012 | 1 Comment

While fixed POS devices have served an efficient and effective tool for retailers & customers over the years, deploying mobile POS devices alongside them would generate more value, as it makes transactions easier, allows better tracking and gives the customer the ability to organize her needs. In the future, it will be technology the customer expects in the store as opposed to being offered a choice between it and not.

In order to deploy these devices, the retail industry needs to rethink its organizational purpose and focus with a new attitude – an attitude that takes time to fully sink in.

Installation of mobile POS systems can be approached with a step by step approach, to better allow the retailer to better ease in to the new addition – start with better handling of seasonal demand, then increasing basket size and finally reducing pilferage.

The traditional retail store format will remain relevant for years to come, once retailers see mobile POS playing a crucial role in keeping in adding collective value.
