Djuice – It’s Fun To Be Lame?

“Jigar aaj raat ka kya plan hai…”
Most might recognize this line from the recent Djuice commercial bring aired promoting their new SMS package. I don’t know who is coming up with these concepts for their commercials and which telenor representative is approving them for production but this is just ridiculous. The quality of their concepts has been deteriorating steadily for quite some time now and just when I thought they could not get any worst, Telenor pulls this out of the hat.
Even if I see beyond the talking thumb and the cheeky smily lips, I see a blue shoulder, I honestly thought the shoulder was unnecessary since nobody can mistake the thumb for anything else but what it is, I cannot just let go the sheer lack of creativity behind this ad. I am sure the creative minds at the agency that created this atrocity could have come up with something better.
To what extent will the Djuice TVCs be defiled and how long can the people stare the tube without changing the channel in under 30 sec.
P.S: A simple search on YouTube will bring quite a lot of interesting Telenor commercials for your viewing pleasure.

This is horrifying. A pain for the eyes seriously.
seriously a thumb with teeth, thats really lame
i have never been impressed with telenor commercials
and looks like i wont ever be.
my numbers on sale anyone interested?
Disgusting Ad! .. The idea of thumb having teeth is just awful…!
I personally liked the ‘thumb’ idea, its just that the execution was pathetic.
hahah Arsalan, I dont think this place is the best place to sell your telenor number lol
I am somewhat ashamed to admit I have a Djuice number too that I used alot a few years ago but now it is safely tucked away in my wallet which rests right next to my right butt cheek which is exactly where I would put Djuice ad’s
Glad to see that I am not alone who thinks that idea was good but execution could have been much better. Personally I would have done it in 2d animation (may be because that’s what we do, hehhe.) Just think adding a comical touch to it could have improved its appeal.
BTW I already have compared telecos ads on CIO Pakistan some time back. And, according to ME, Telenor has the honor of airing some of the worst ads ever hit to consumer’s eyes.
very true Touseef!! Telenor’s Djuice ad’s are truly sad, the ads for talkshawk which is a budget connection aimed at the low end consumer has better ads.
I hate this ad!!! It is creeepy and scaryy!! Telenor ads are bad bad bad.. that talkshalk thing is also a pain :@
