KFC – A Terrible Experience!
Today I had the misfortune to visit KFC – the Khayaban-e-Ittehad outlet during lunch hours. A couple of us colleagues were out for a meeting and on our way back we didn’t have much time left but were really hungry as well and so just wanted to go someplace quick and this outlet was on our route. So, we unlucky people chose to ruin our lunch big time.
Now we went in, the air conditioned didn’t work. It was so damn hot. We ordered and they told us to go upstairs. We went upstairs and found the entire floor was closed. All the tables and chairs were not even set. So then on inquiring we were told you can go downstairs. So we walked down the stairs and it smelled BAD. It was such a bad smelly experience – a strange combination of rotten stuff, fumigation and phenyl. It was so damn suffocating.
The wall cover was also torn from a few places. It was so hot, we sat under the split air conditioner and SURPRISE it wasn’t working. In fact, it looked as if it will fall upon us. Our food wasn’t even ready so we walked upstairs as it was unbearable to sit there. By then our food was ready and we just sat in the small space in front of the ordering counter. And the fries were old too. And the air conditioned was not working even there. I have never had such a bad experience… having food, sweating, old fries, no air conditioner.
We did make it a point to tell the people at KFC how below standards their service was. So shocking that a franchise could be so shitty. Even the long forgotten Mr. Burgers at Tariq Road provide better service than this KFC outlet.
So all in all the gist of it all was this is a perfect example of having a bad lunch with a good company. Secondly, none of us will ever say…finger lickin’ good ever now. Because this experience was pathetic beyond one’s imagination.
